Spikibacca 8” Dunny by Tony Nakanari

This is what happens when everyone’s favorite wookie meets Mai Hiro's distinct brand of bad-ass cuteness. He even has a little blaster! This handpainted one-of-a-kind piece now rests in the hands of a lucky private collector, so you'll just have to admire it through through your computer monitor for now until Kidrobot hopefully does a Star Wars Dunny blindboxed series one day. One day…

Android Customs by JPK

JonPaul Kaiser has revealed two new Android customs. One will melt your heart and the other will vaporize the crap out of it. Check out JPK’s Totoro Foomi in our Totoro Custom Toys list.

An Interview with Carlos East of The Beast Brothers

Carlos East of The Beast Brothers was awesome enough to talk with blindboxed during NYCC 2013. (Better late than never, right?) The Mexico City native talks about the history of The Beast Brothers, how he and his brother, Ernesto East, were customizing toys at the age of three, his early love for designer toys from Michael Lau and Eric So, his toys that are up for two Designer Toy Awards, and more.

ESC-Toy Launching Last of Us Line
Having previously collaborated with Naughty Dog on the Nathan Drake vinyl figure, ESC-Toy and Erick Scarecrow will be producing collectibles based on the developers enormous hit, The Last of Us. Joel and Ellie are sure to show up, but who else will be featured in this line? Infected? Bill?! I really hope there’s a Bill figure, complete with a Bears Magazine accessory.

GIANT Huck Gee Skullhead
Joining the 4-foot Dunny and the 2-foot Labbits in Kidrobot’s lineup of Art Giants fiberglass behemoths will be Huck Gee’s Skullhead. It’s 50” wide and 42” tall - big enough for Kidrobot to put a disclaimer on its webpage saying that it will not fit through standard doorways. Pick one up for $5,000 on February 6, roof removal and crane rental not included.

Mega Man x Kidrobot Mini Figure Series
Kidrobot will be following up their successful Street Fighter line with a Mega Man series. No photos have been revealed yet, but my wild guess is that most of the toys will be a standard Mega Man sculpt with different colorways representing the different power-ups, like the palette swaps in the games.
This is pretty cool since the Munny platform already lends itself well to Mega Man’s design. I think for a lot of kids who grew up in the ’80s and then found out about customizing Munnys, their first idea was to do a Mega Man piece.

JPK’s Artist Dunnys

JonPaul Kaiser’s newest set of customs is a really cool idea. He and his client created a dream-team of fine and pop artists. JPK then painted a portrait of each of the five artists onto 3” Dunnys. The twist is that one side of the portrait is done in JPK’s distinctive style while the opposing half recreates the style of that artist. For example, in the figure about, you can see JPK’s heavily lined, high contrast style on the right and Dali’s surreal forms on the left.

Tank Girl + Gundam + Huck Gee = Penelope McStompsalot

Here’s the newest Dunny from Kidrobot. Designed by Huck Gee, this might be the first production release to have a 3” Dunny inside of an 8” Dunny. My favorite part of this piece is the repurposed Coke vending machine on the back. Penelope McStompsalot will retail for $200 and will be available on February 13.
